A window cleaner was cleaning a window on the 30th floor of a skyscraper when he suddenly lost his balance and fell.
He had no safety equipment of any kind and had nothing to soften his fall. But he was not hurt nor was he ever in any danger.

The window cleaner was on the inside of the building cleaning the windows from the inside.
The puzzle throws a curveball by calling out the 30th floor and we generally think of skyscraper window cleaners as being on the outside, but the puzzle never explicitly says they are on the outside.
